Hi, I'm Helina.
I moved from Ethiopia to the U.S. alone at 16 to finish high school and pursue new opportunities. Being in a new country without my family nearby taught me to be resilient and independent. Those experiences continue to shape how I approach challenges and grow today.
I earned my master’s degree in Creative Brand Management from the VCU Brandcenter, one of the top programs in the field. Now, I work as a freelance brand strategist helping startups and small businesses clarify their vision and build brands that truly connect with their audiences. I focus on practical strategies that balance creativity and business goals. I especially enjoy working with brands that have strong ties to their communities and cultures.
When I’m not working, I like to travel, ride horses, play the violin, and read mostly about moral philosophy. These hobbies keep me curious and remind me that growth and creativity come from all kinds of places.
